Free breathing exercises

Simple guided timers that run right here in your browser. No sign up, no download. Pick one, press start, and follow the light.

Which one should I try?

If you are not sure, start with calm breathing 4-6: in for 4 seconds, out for 6, no holds. It is the gentlest pattern here and works out to about six breaths a minute. Try box breathing when you want something steady and structured, and 4-7-8 when you are winding down for sleep.

Every timer includes

  • A slow, glowing circle that grows as you breathe in and settles as you breathe out.
  • Session lengths of 1, 2, 3 or 5 minutes, always ending on a full breath.
  • Optional soft sound cues, off by default, so you can close your eyes.
  • Keyboard support (press Space to start or pause), screen reader announcements, and a calmer, motion-free view if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • Your screen stays awake during a session on supported browsers.

Who should go gently

If you feel dizzy, lightheaded or short of breath at any point, stop and breathe normally. Go gently with breath holds if you are pregnant, have a heart or lung condition, or have a history of panic attacks. This is a general wellbeing tool, not medical advice or treatment. If you have a health condition or concerns, check with your doctor before starting a new breathing practice.

Want this to show up mid-scroll?

DeRot pauses your scroll and walks you through a breath like this one. Sixty seconds later your shoulders have dropped, your head feels clearer, and you carry on, calmer. No willpower needed, just a breather.
